Time Lords are an all-Light archetype, consisting of all Level 10 monsters. Excluding the ace card Sephylon, none of them can be destroyed by battle or by card effects (receive no damage from battles involving Time Lord monster), but all of them return to the deck during the standby phase after summoning. In addition to their interesting effects, most of them can be normal summoned without tributing.

The X-Saber archetype consists of entirely Earth-attribute monsters, mainly Warrior and Beast-Warrior types. Due to the limiting and banning of certain cards, successful X-Saber decks are no longer associated with hand control, and instead primarily focus on summoning as many monsters as possible in a short period of time.
